Question: you have a toothpick a very selfish raven a copy of FHM magazine a watermelon and 7 lighters you have 6 hours until the room you are in fills with mice that will eat your raven and leave you defencless from the incoming horde of locus that will eat 3/4 of the major limbs of your choise (these are kind locus) no one can get you out of the room as the only door is made of 6 inch thick wood and locked from the outside you must escape, also you are going blind in your left eye but thats totaly unrelated

I’d spend the first 4 hours reading FHM with my good eye. Id then carve a hole in the water melon with the toothpick and fill it with 6 of the lighters. Using the FHM id fill the hole and set it on fire with the last lighter. This will make the watermelon explode against the door, blasting it to pieces. Id leave the room with the selfish Raven and trade him in for a new FHM.

The plural of locus is “loci”. It refers to a specific position on the genome.

I would use the copy of FHM to bribe the raven to dismantle the walls of the room, and then use the toothpicks and the lighters to make very small crossbows to fire at the locusts to make them go away. Then I would give the watermelon to an opthalmologist (eye doctor) in exchange for making my eye better. Easy!

I would train the mice to fire the toothpick-flaming-crossbows at the locusts, and if they didn’t do as they were told I would feed the mice to the raven.

Such an awesome question I had to zone hop to pay kudos! My question is – how do the mice and locusts get in? If it’s a big hole – then, obviously, I should leave out of that hole RIGHT NOW. If it’s a small hole, stuff the watermelon into it! No need to rush – any locusts that manage to get in – just grab them and eat them – they’re quite nutritious. And as to The Raven, well, I could just set it tapping at the door.
