• Question: what would you say to a person wanting to get into your area of work?

      Hi Sheena,

      i would tell them how interesting it is. The brain is amazing and there is so much about how it works and what makes it go wrong that we don’t know. People are making new and exciting discoveries all the time. I would say it is a brilliant field to be in.

      If you are thinking of going into neuroscience i would read a book called phantoms in the brain by V.Ramachandran, it is a brilliant book about how people with amputations experience sensation in their missing limbs. its definitely what made me decided to do neuroscience and its amazing.

      If they wanted to research Parkinson’s disease i would tell them to go to this website http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/ and have a look at the research that people are doing at the moment.
