Help for heroes. I know its not very scientific but my brother is in the forces and i find it shocking the lack of support for service men and women injured in the line of duty, especially if they have to leave their jobs. I would give the money to this charity. 🙂

      Cancer research.

Hi kiiladwarf. I’ve lost a couple of relatives to cancer. I know it’s going to be difficult to cure, but I think it will be eventually possible to minimise the risk of developing certain kinds of cancer. I have a lot of friends working on this area, and they could do with all the support they can get.

I’d probably give the money to a charity for mitochondrial disease, which I work on. It’s a set of diseases that not many people know about, but they affect thousands of people – doctors are finding more and more cases every year too, as they start to understand the signs to look for with mitochondrial dysfunction.

Mitochondrial disease can make it hard for people to have children, so I would hope that my money would help people to pay for treatments like IVF to help them have a healthy family, as well to help with the diagnosis/treatment of mitochondrial disease.

I would give it to my local hospice. I think that they could make the money go a long way to improving the lives of their patients.
