My favourite book is the Prisoner of Azkaban, but my favourite film is the Deathly Hallows part one – I think the films keep getting better, sothe last one should be really good!
Prisoner of Azkaban on both counts. I think it was when things started turning a bit darker, which is always fun. Plus, it introduces Sirius and Lupin, who are two of my favourite characters.
But that might be partly because I think David Thewlis and Gary Oldman are great actors. One of the reasons I liked the film. Also, the Dementors looked amazing onscreen.
My favourite book is the prisoner of Azkaban, like Georgia. I really like that you start off thinking Sirius is a bad guy but that he turns out just to be a concerned godparent 🙂 Could read it again and again. My favourite film is the half blood prince, i thought they did a good job with this one 🙂
Out of ineterest, has anyone (else) considered the genetics of magic in HP? For a single-gene, a reccesive model just about fits. That would explain the pureblood families, and the muggle-born wizards & witches (if both parents carry one “magic” gene, there’s a 1 in 4 chance that any offspring would be magical).
Squibs born into pure-blood families raise a few questions. New mutations, or non-paternity maybe?
