      Hello,

Most people who get Parkinson’s disease will get symptoms when they are about 65 years old. The first thing that people usually notice is a tremor, this is a little bit like a shake, usually in your hands. The symptoms will then progress. Patients usually take very short, shuffling steps, they tend to have a change in posture (which means they are slightly bent forward), their faces loose expression . Patients movements slow down and their movements become very rigid (stiff). Although these symptoms get worse over time, patients can live with this disease well into their 80s.

Unfortunately by the time anyone develops symptoms a lot of cells in their brain have already died. It is a disease that we really need to find a cure for, so that we can help those people affected. This is why i go to work every day.
